Scripture: Mark 12:38-44 Jesus Denounces the Scribes 38 As he taught, he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39 and to have the best seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets! 40 They devour widows’ houses and for the sake of appearance say long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” The Widow’s Offering 41 He sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny. 43 Then he called his disciples and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. 44 For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” New Revised Standard Version...
(more)

Be Thou My Vision
Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart,Be all else but naught to me, save that thou art;Thou my best thought in the day and the night,Both waking and sleeping, thy presence my light. Be thou my wisdom, be thou my true word,Be thou ever with me, and I with thee Lord;Be thou my great Father, and I thy true son;Be thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one. Be thou my breastplate, my sword for the fight;Be thou my whole armour, be thou my true might;Be thou my soul's shelter, be thou my strong tower:O raise thou me heavenward, great Power of my power. Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise:Be thou mine inheritance now and always;Be thou and thou only the first in my heart;O Sovereign of Heaven, my treasure thou art. High King of Heaven, thou Heaven's bright sun,O grant me its joys after victory is won!;Great heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be thou my vision, O Ruler of all. - Eleanor Hull Version , 1912 -

Up For The Challenge
King James Bible Daily Devotion – Learning Scripture One Day At A Time Date: Monday, November 23, 2015 Chapters: Romans 11-13 Message Title: Up For The Challenge Hello My Friend, I was playing a rather challenging solitaire game, when I finally figured out the key to winning a game it occurred to me how many times I gave up on winning a hand because it was more challenging. That got me thinking how easily we as Christians give up on God. I don't mean walking away from Him, but seeing Him do amazing things in our lives because we're not willing to do more for Him when life is more challenging. We must understand that God is going to always give us challenges, they are what help us grow into the likeness of His Son, the key to winning them is, in fact, His Son. We get close to Him, He helps us win every challenge, and see some amazing things out of it. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him;...
